I applied for the same job at Nissan a couple summer's back.
I didn't get accepted.

Yeah, i always told myself that if i did this kind of work it'd have to be Honda. I kinda wish it were. Might see about moving over to the Nissan dealer after my 90 days are up.

Yeah, i know. Aside from flipping burgers, finding a job has proved impossible in this town.

Do they actually have a spray bay area or is it just hose and bucket washing? I work for an auto auction outside checking over the detail shops work. It's hard work, but it's fun when you get to drive the cars. I was lucky enough to drive an S2000 which is a rare car here, but we usually have 800 Chevys, 900 Nissans (doubt we will get the GT-R), 600 Fords and around 400 random car brands from Banks, private dealers and small car dealers. I wish they would start selling Honda's, but I realized it's hard to sell a car no one wants to sell.

Well, they have one "bay". Its really just a corner of the shop separated by a wall, with a drain and hose hook-ups. We have a power washer, but its mainly soapy mits/hoses. Then we dry, vacuum and do windows. Well, only on the courtesy cars.

My neighbors had an HHR as a loaner when they had some hail damage fixed on their Durango. I asked them how they liked it when they had it and she said the same thing about the seat. She used the word "cheap" to describe how it felt.

Yeah. I dunno about cheap, but i just didnt like the feel of it. Ive ridden in a "plain" Equinox and i was shocked at the lack of...."anything". Flat door panels. Lame handles/knobs.

1. Its Chevy.

Aside from vettes and the occasional SS cobalt, the cars reall arent that cool.

2. It's not THAT great of a job.

Sure the job is a cool one, but im also doing bitch work. I didnt do much today, but apparently it was an unseasonably slow day. Apparently, theyre actually fairly busy. Esp on Saturdays. I guess i can see why you'd want it as a frist job.

3. It's not hate you feel, it's jealousy. Perhaps even envy.

I got to drive another corvette the other day. 2007 convertible. The H.U.D was awesome.

haha I got a job at Discount Tire about 2 weeks ago too, so its somewhat new. I'm not NEW to Discount, I worked there in the past, but they let me go 2 yrs ago b/c of tardiness. But somehow I convinced them to rehire me, the same exact store too! and its less than half a mile from home, so I could bike if i wanted to.

I mounted up some 305/35R24s today lol, yes 24 inch wheels, which were a bitch but was kinda cool. Got to work on a 911 Carrera 4S, an M3, an S4 and a 850Ci BMW. Cool cars.

The work is very fast paced and you sweat a lot busting tires all day, but the people are cool and funny at times. We get to listen to the radio now which we didn't have last time so thats a plus.

We got radios but one is country and one is cool rock. I hate country.

Its an deasy job, washing cars, but alot of the time there isnt shit to do so you gotta look busy or hide, without getting caught.

That reminds me...

This tech, i dunno if he was new or just had a brainfart, but as you all know, Vettes sit very low. So they should be driven/treated like a low-rider. Speedbumps, dips, etc. Anyway, we have 2 doors for that reason. One is a flat entrance, the other is one with a nice incline. Well, this tech attempted to take a vette out door number 2. He managed to get the front half of the car out the door, but got caught up on the lip. Luckily he got it reversed and evenmore, he didnt do any damage(that i could see).
