I need help from those with SLRs

I just got this Olympus SLR. Pretty neat. I like it. But.

I just brought it inside my house for the first time, and i cant get it to fucking focus. like. Its on auto focus, and the lens moves and shit. but it wont focus

also, looking through the view finder, looks kinda like looking through a kaleidoscope. Not pixelated, just "fruity" Looking.

Help.

dunno if i can be much help dude, but when my camera wasnt focusing, I had the focus points set wrong on accident (focus was set to the top left of the viewing window). See if your camera has that setting

ok well. i figured this out

when the camera is off, and i detach the lens and hold it away slightly, the view finder comes in clear.

ur viewfinder is out of focus.

and it prolly wont focus in low light.... dunno if thats the case.... if not it could be what lee said.

i figured it out.

its the wrong lens.

im picking up the right one thursday -_-

zoom back to normal. if you are zoomed all the way it cant find anything to shoot. or if something is too close it wont focus. you could put a object a good distance to focus on. when in focus hold the button dont let go. get rid of the object then replace it with what you were gonna take a piture of. bleh confusing to type

lets say billy is 5 feet away. it wont focus. so i tell him to move up a lil until it can focus then he moves back to where he was. then i take the pic. or if you just get pissed just do manual focus lol. hope that helps
