Are Cb's part of the "old school"?

So I was looking around and found a thread on H-T about the "old school" and saw some pics of cb's in there. I also noticed that a bunch of the cars in the thread were circa 1990.

So are cars in the early 90's now part of the old school?

Well, would you consider 16-19 year old cars in a rather fledgling scene like ours old school?

I would. The scene is barely 20 years old itself, considering its rise to the mainstream probably started with the late 80's cars like the Starion/Conquest, FC RX7 and the MK3 Supra.

CBs are 4th generation. We're on the 8th generation. Our cars are the great great grandparents of the current Accord. I'd say we're oldschool

x2!!! I would consider us old school but it almost seems to me like my car isnt as old as it really is because its soo damn reliable and alot of people think my car is newer than it really is. the car looks and feels timeless to me

Partly, but it was really the 4th gen Civic that made it hugely prominent. Hence why Honda holds such a large place. Of course, back in the pre FnF days, it wasn't shameful to be associated with one, and they were cleaning the clocks of a lot of heavy machinery, with fewer resources to boot.

It was light, well built, reliable, had sophisticated suspension, good design, and was affordable and efficient. Keep in mind that in the balmy first days of the import scene, your "muscle" was running in the high 14's to mid 15's. I have seen stock CRX Si's run high 15's stock. Put a few bolt ons, and you were harassing Mustangs and Camaros. It wasn't "fast" by today's standards, but it was by those standards.

Today, people buy a 270+HP Evo or STi and scoff at an early 90's Honda, because they don't have "real" power. Well of course not. Apples to oranges.

Since it really took off in the early 90's, yes, our cars are "old school." Not only are they just plain old (hell, some of them are probably older than their owners), but they are getting rare, and seeing one with anything done to it is quite rare. As the other, newer Hondas age and become more affordable, and less common, they will also become "old school."

Give it a couple more years and the CB's will be considered old school.
                (well to me)
Right now, old school to me is anything before 1990.

Yeah, we're not quite "old school" IMO. We're getting there though. When i think "Old Skool" I think pre-90s. obd-0 days.

Legally, when a car reaches 25, its a "classic". I think at that point, it becomes "Old School". So, id say give us a few more years and then we'll be Old School.

                      Yeah but started in '88.
If Cb's would have started sometime in the 80's they would have been considered old school to me.

CB7s are OG, and honestly my Fav Honda Accord of all time, it has a timeless look. However the new Honda Accord coupe does look pretty sweet.

In JDMland, the 89 Accord was a CB.

That is why people would say they are part of the 'old school' but

This is exactly the way I feel about it. I still see CBs every day by the dozens and it doesn't look like a 17 year old car. Given, it doesn't look like a new car by any means but people have asked if my car was older than 2000 before.

But when 2011 rolls around and my car is 20 years old I'm going to officially consider Cb's part of the old school.
