I've been thinking and thinking. I've been trying to find the perfect gift for my girl. Er well, its our first year anniversary. and well, I really can't sleep, so i'll ramble about it here.
a couple of months ago, we went window shopping, I of course had to look at all the rolex's the mall had to offer. (hey, LET ME DREAM) We stroll into this one jewelery shop, and there they have the Mikimoto pearls and such. and she points them out, of course... I mean she is a woman. Then tells me how she loves Mikimotos, a story about how her dad got her mom a Mikimoto pearl ring such and such. I mean I know and remember exactly what she said, But im not going into detail.
So, about three days ago, I go into Kay's. (don't go there, btw, bitches are unhelpful as hell once they know your not buying anything that very instant.) and thought about getting her this pearl necklace (it was only like 119, but was a pearl mikimoto shits on, appearently, it was pretty dull sitting next to the mikimotos) Well, i told her i'd have to think about the necklace, I wanted to look around that i'd be back if i didnt find anything else.
I then TURNED to see some NICE watches (I have a watch fetish) I think it was the Bulova's, and asked to see them. The lady helping then proceeds to rudly tell me flat out "No" and I say "Excuse me!?"
gah the rest isnt important, lesson from that little side story, dont go to Kays. Fuck the kiss bullshit.
any way. The next day, yesterday. I get curious about this new jewelry store at my local mall, Jareds. This place was fucking amazing. Extremely nice on the eyes. I walked in, offered me a complimentary water (or espresso) and showed me around. I told the guy that was helping me my limit, ran my credit (which came out to a lot more than what I expected, thanks to my car) and showed me what they had. I saw the Mikimoto's and fell in love with this ring they had.
Before I said I'd buy it, he wanted to show me some other pearl collection they had. I dont remember the name. What was cool, knowing my spending limit AND my credit limit, he said
"There are actually out of what your looking to spend, but I really want to show you these so just incase you marry this girl in ten years or so *laugh* this is something you can take into consideration.."
For him to take the time to show me these "chocolate" pearls KNOWING i wasnt going to buy them, was really fucking cool.
he was nice, professional, treated me like i was a millionaire, knowing i was 18 with a part time job.
and shit you needed to be a millionaire to buy those chocolate pearls.
any who. Why i say I REALLY love my girlfriend. Because i ended up buying that Mikimoto ring. For nearly all my allotted credit.
Its almost identical, but the one i got had three diamonds on each side instead of one, so its more expensive... o.O'
now, i bought it on credit, but the amount it was, i had more than enough saved up for it, I figured i could make the payments and build up more credit. So, dont flame me for buying jewelry on credit I just thought to make payments for a few months then pay it off.
now the story for me getting this ring, and why i couldnt just get her a card or something.
I've known the girl for the past four years, this anniversary making it five. Thats half a decade! For the past year, we've been an intimate, "declared" couple. And this has been the happiest year of my life, really. With her in my life, i have been more confident, and because of that, have accomplished so much.
After the summer, i have a semi-professional oppertunity waiting for me as an assistant at a law firm.
i bought a 350z
i graduated my senior year with a 3.8 gpa. (she did with a 4.17, fucking smart ass )
She motivates me and inspires me, and I constantly tell her how much of an inspiration to me she is, how I want to spoil her and give her a fantastic life any "O.C mom" would kill for. That this ring is only a glimpse into our future together, how ambitious i am to provide that lifestyle for her, as I've shown, when im ambitious, i can do pretty big things (the car, the pearl ring).
She mentioned at the jewelry store as we were window shopping that She would love a mikimoto pearl, and that it would be a long time before she could have one.
I dont know, just another post of me thinking.
Wish us another great year guys. So far, so good.
I'll let you guys know how dinner and the gift went after our ann. (aug. first.)
