Keep in mind most of my shifting was done mostly at 3000 rpms, so VTEC I don't think should be an issue in this conversation. I guess the mileage could have been better if I didn't have a Short geared Ys1... but thats ha;f the fun of a G2 GS-R!
About 31-32mpg on the highway...
I think i could have gotten more on the highway if i would have gotten a LS 5th gear

the ruckus can't do hwy and I don't even think its got enough pep to go up hills and such. I wanted one when I first started reading about them but the power ratings turned me off so I started looking at other scooters. Plus hondas bikes are WAY over priced for what you get.F22b + MP1A = mad fun for me now. . .

I suggest the VX which has 20 more HP and its about 5mpg better.
Something like 50 city/ 60 highway...
I get 27mpg consistanly on the Mazda, and i dont think its bad.
Getting 50mpg would have me like this...

You might consider selling the pos Pontiac and getting a Civic, honestly. Ive mentioned it quite a few times because of its awesomeness, but Ill mention it again. My moms 02 Civic LX 5spd got a consistent 36/41 when I had it for two weeks and I wasnt trying too hard to drive economically. This has moved the Civic quite far up on my list of cars to get after college.
Edit: I used to loathe Civics. Civic gas mileage and rising gas prices should knock anybody off their high horse and down to planet earth. Certainly worked for me.Last edited by texasvtak; 06-16-2008, 05:06 AM.
