I had a friend over til 2am last nite. took him home then i come home to a guy pulling out of my drive at like 2:35. I'm in bfe, this is really odd. i went to turn around and noticed my house was all lite up in the garage and all the garage doors were open. I start to turn around to ask this dude what hes doing and he takes off. a lil late 80s camry was so slow. i chased him trying to get plates (which I'm very sure are fake, old design) and call in his description.
He obviously didn't want me to follow bc we had times of hitting 110 and he tried slammin on his brakes 4 times when i got close. I think i got the plate right but being near sighted and at nite I'm not sure.
Cops didn't seem to take me seriously, especially when we couldn't find anything missing after 2hrs of looking.
Dude has some balls bc my German Shepherd sleeps in the garage at nite and seemed like he knew my car but no one i know.

lol. I chased him about 11miles. I dunno about Allie, I wonder if he hit her. Shes in a heavy cage at nite and she was acting wierd this morning. doing all her tricks for no reason and right up on me.

Also my parents room is on the opposite end of the house and they were out cold.

if that was me....I would've been shooting out his tires before he got out of your safe area ( distance from your garage to the main road. ) I would've been aiming for those tires. It would've been a 85% chance....he'd be rolling on RIM instead of rubber. ( makes your chances of catching that thief much higher ).

False. If you don't shoot to kill then in the court's eyes you shouldn't have shot at all. You would actually most likely be sued and the intruder would win. Fucked up, I know, but thats why you have to shoot to kill.


kc8enb07,Now that you'll want to buy a pistol, go to your local sheriff's office and apply for your CCW permit. Buy a few books about CCW and know your stuff.

I really have to talk to a lawyer, I have a few questions regarding this stuff. Under the Castle Doctrine, you don't have to retreat from your own home. However, if you come home and suspect there is an intruder, I believe that you cant go into your home, shoot the intruder, and claim self defense. I believe you'd have to stay outside and call the Police.


SN2BH22CB7, Shooting his tires out also wouldn't be in self defense. I think if the intruder were to injure himself as a result of not having tires, he could actually sue you and win.
