It's much harder to find Obama screw up's in the media then it is to find McCain's foot in mouth moments. The media is biased towards the left, anyone that has not realized this is either living in a cave or is from the left of the aisle.

It's really as simple as where the coverage is. McCain stumbles over his words and it is all over the Political news for a week, Obama stumbles over his words and it gets 5 minutes on CNN and then it is gone from media coverage.

*DISCLAIMER* I'm white. I lived in Michigan, lots of racism. I lived in Tennessee. Lots more racism, and people who HATE change.
Obama's ethnic background has already become an issue and HE himself made it that way. He called out his own grandmother, called her a "TYPICAL WHITE WOMAN." Had the roles been reversed and McCain had a black grandmother, and he called her a "TYPICAL BLACK WOMAN," Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be calling for him to step down. The truth is too harsh of a reality for most left wingers to swallow.

If McCain had a preacher that spouted racial slurs or was seen anywhere near a clan meeting he would be out of the race and be cast out as a racist. And yet Obama listens to a preacher for 20 years that just foam's at the mouth with how horrible America is and how "Hillary doesn't know what its like to be called a N*****," and he is still the Democrat's nominee for President. Obama saying that he was not aware of what was said by his preacher is completely absurd. He attended that church for 20 years, he was married by this preacher in that church, his children were baptised in that church by that preacher, its not like he was sitting in the back of the church blasting his Ipod for the last 20 years, he was clearly an active member.

You're taking the whole 'typical white woman' quote out of context.

I have a typical white family.

My dad worked with a black guy that was a complete f'ing idiot. He had to hire the guy (keep in mind this is the early 80s) because of affirmative action. He spent the next 15 years trying to make fun of the fact that the guy couldn't do his job, never got in trouble, and called all the white people crackas honkeys etc..

Trust me. My family threw the N word around A LOT. It came down to bitterness that someone would play the race card to get ahead. While I'm not perfect, I can say that I can understand why black people don't like being called racial slurs. Obama didn't say "my mother is a white ass wonderbread money grubbin rich snotty bigot", did he? It's up to the listener to glean out what they want from what he said.

As far as his preacher.. You ever had a friend that you knew for years, and they eventually annoy you, offend you, irritate you, embarrass you, or threaten to kill you, etc... (stopping at the cusp of absurdity) and you decide it's best to take a step back, or just walk away?

If you do some research, as far as I can tell (mind you I'm not on the ObamaCam monitoring his every move) he has spoken about his preacher's radical comments, and behavior. When he said Hilllary doesn't know what it's like to be called a N***** well the preacher doesn't know what it's like to not be black, and not have a strong view toward racial equality. As a white person, I don't consider racial equality to be an issue in my personal life and decisions. In an extreme way, the preacher has a point. Sometimes people don't always use the best examples and verbage to get their point across. Remember Mel Gibson? Hah..

My girlfriend was telling me about McCain not knowing the difference between the Sunni and Shiite (sp?). Uh.. Ok. And you're running for office? I think his quote was something along the lines of, "I give up. You tell ME."

That is definitely embarrassing for all parties involved.

Now, for something shocking. I haven't been voting for the last few elections. I didn't like GW, I didn't like Clinton. I didn't like Gore (I lived in TN). It's amazing how STUPID people are, in politics, and everywhere else. Our generation (and our predecessors) are slowly emerging with this idea that it's ok to be dumb. That bothers me more than anything ever will.

At the same time this is a little scary that this rambling is what we MAY have to look forward to IF Obama is elected President. Remember that phone call that's going to ring at 3:00 in the morning?

          Obama on Iraq...... I think...

Transcript of Obama on Iraq: What they'll say is, "Well it costs too much money," but you know what? It would cost, about... It -- it -- it would cost about the same as what we would spend... It... Over the course of 10 years it would cost what it would costs us... (nervous laugh) All right. Okay. We're going to... It... It would cost us about the same as it would cost for about -- hold on one second. I can't hear myself. But I'm glad you're fired up, though. I'm glad. END.

Obama on Health care...... I think...

Transcript of Obama on Health care: Everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma, they end up taking up a hospital bed, it costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early and they got some treatment, and a, a breathalyzer, or inhalator, not a breathalyzer. (crowd laughing) I haven't had much sleep in the last 48 hours. END

I may not be too familiar with the way things work around the Emergency Room, but I have never heard of giving a breathalyzer to someone with asthma.

Just keeps showing that he is cracking under stress and lack of sleep now, does he really think it is going to get easier IF he wins the White House?

I'm anxious to see him step up to the plate and hold some unscripted debates. See who the stronger candidate is after both candidates are working without a teleprompter in-front of them reminding them what to say.
hehehe....why didnt' you post up any McCainisms?

Yeah everyone stumbles over their own words once in a while but Obama keeps showing that if you take the teleprompter away, he loses his train of thought and ends up putting his foot in his mouth.

And mentioning Bush's rambling is just beating a dead horse. He is not and cannot run for reelection, Obama IS running for election.
how do you know he's using a teleprompter?

Again, you try talking in front of a stadium of people. I can guarantee that its hard, and no matter how well you know what you want to say, you slip up once in a while. I dont give a shit if youre running for president or not, but YOURE the one that tried to expose HIS slip-ups like it was a huge deal, and honestly, if you think you can criticize him for it, I expect you to be able to do it.

Again, I already stated why I posted these. The media publicises every little slip up that McCain has, it is much harder to find an Obama slip up in the media.

That's the thing, he is not using a teleprompter during this, that is why he is wandering around like he is lost. The thread title is simply because this wandering around is what we would see IF the teleprompter goes out during one of his speeches.

Again. I am not the one running for public office. Obama IS running for public office. Every step that McCain takes is scrutinized, while Obama can stumble all around and no one says a word. That is the perks of this being a FREE COUNTRY. I can say what I the media won't, whether you and your other leftists friends in the media like it or not. And again, my ability to speak in-front of a stadium full of people is completely irrelevant to the subject.

So he slipped up, big deal. But I dont think thats the whole point of this thread. Every politician slips up sometimes, but yes, McCain gets FAR less leeway with his slip ups. All this said, I hate politics and I have no idea who Im going to vote for, much less any idea IF anybody on the ballot deserves my vote.

not to mention he gets FAR less media cover, which is actually a GREAT thing.

ANYTHING Obama does will actually be MORE scrutinized.

                        MadSpleen is on this subject.

                            LOL....absolutely incorrect.

Leftist in skin, but deep down....every media conglomerate is absolutely republican. Not to mention that 20% of Republican funding comes from these 'leftist' media corporations......

Why do you think CNN keeps bringing race up? You think 70% of white america wants to hear that a Black man might have a chance for president?

You didn't know that, because you were hoping to 'shed light' onto a little speech hiccup that by your expression, exposes a mans inability to run a country.

Makes sense....You mess up a speech once in a while and you automatically lose the ability to make the decision of helping millions of Americans get health care.

I see the similarities. I wish someone told Bush that same thing. (I bet you would've voted for that guy too....good choice)

Do you know what person European nations want elected?

Do you know why they want him elected?

One day you'll get your facts straight....

I don't want to vote for Obama, I would much prefer if Huckabee had been the republican nominee, as he really had the most authoritative experience of any of the Candidates, both Republican and Democrat.

But because I don't agree with McCains positions (Buying more oil from the middle east) and I love the idea of creating a great American infrastructure of Independent Energy....I'll vote for the more qualified of the candidates.

Less and less people are interested in hearing about Obama.
