    Getting tired of the CB7

Recently I've been tired of my Accord. It's getting to be too much work and too much money to keep fixing. It gets draining you know? I feel like every week there's something else that breaks or falls apart. I've got rust that's eating through the fenders, car quits every week, I've spent more money trying to figure out whats wrong than actually fixing the problems. When you've got nothing else to drive it's hard to have a car that's slowly falling apart.

Oh well........just venting. Even though I do love my Accord, i sure want to drive it off a bridge sometimes, haha.

Anyone else feel the same way?

oooooh yeah. Seems like you can never enjoy it. But I just put my summer tires on with the rims. My car sits high, I really need to drop it but dont have the $ at the moment. Still, I looked back at it 3 times on the walk into my house :P I wish I could win $10,000 just to fix my car up to completion.

at least you've been able to drive your car more than a few miles within the past 2 years.

My cb7 is my anti drug, with it I cannot afford nothing. But yes i love the car just give it a bath and see if you still want to sell it, thats what i do.

pretty much every day of my life...

but then I think of everything I have learned from fixing things that break on my car, and all the gas I save every day, and the car payments I'm NOT making, and it's all worth it in the end

Yeah seems like it's a problem no matter who owns an older car.

I'm still keeping it though, just yesterday I got it running again, put on a new grille, replaced my trunk cable and latch and gave it a good wash. lol. I swear it's always up/down, sell/keep, love/hate. I to wish I could win a huge load of money and fix the Accord so I wouldn't have to worry about it for maybe 5 years, lol.

My goals of now are to wait till I'm done with college, I've got one year left and once I'm making a living with my new career I'll be able to fix up the Accord or buy a new car.

Yeah definitely. By fixing things that break, I learn so much more about my car. And I guess it is nice not having to make car payments

I've been there, but I've found it's better to spend upwards of a $1000 (even on credit, pay it off over a couple of months) and fix it all, properly. In the end, it's way cheaper than a new car. I once sat down with my dad and compared monthly average expenses running my old 1990 Accord with his (at the time new) 2002 Accord.....I paid twice as much for maintenance every month, but his monthly car payment was like $350+.......and even a new car still needs oil changes, brake work, etc...

Body rust is brutal though, so expensive to fix and not that much fun to do yourself. If it's really advanced your best bet is to just find another Accord that's been rustproofed regularly. That's what I ended up doing, and I also haven't spent more than a $100 on it since I bought it 7 months ago.

Once I get a place with enough room, I'd like to take the Accord apart and fix everything. Strip it down to the frame, fix rust, and other body work.......just really make it nice. Maybe some new paint and start from there.
