I'm leaning heavily toward the kel-tec pf-9. It's cheap, light, thin, and has a rail. Just wanted some of your input

Never heard any bad reports on Kel-Tec stuff. Nice pp.

Also, impactguns.com has a laser for the pf-9 that is about $140.

Should have also mentioned that I want this for concealed carry. 1911 is sweet, but bulky.

          Get a Springfield XD-40

Seriously. You can't kill these things, and they're under 500 with a case, extra mag, holster, loader, magazine holster, bore brush, and some other stuff.

They're great. Plus you can go with a smaller caliber like the XD-9 if you like. The .40 subcompact isn't heavy though I didn't like it because my hands are too big for the handgrips.

*EDIT* Personally I hate Glocks. They're not as great as people claim, and I don't like the angle of the handgrip. Just too awkward for me.

Glock. They've earned a reputation for a reason. Many people keep 'em for decades. I've heard some have the handgrip issue, but for most it's not a big deal. 9mm a good round for daily carry, stops most people well enough. It's a good combo.

I'd def. consider the kel-tec, but I did have some issues with one before. It's choice number two though, It just doesn't feel comfy in my hands for some reason.

The kel-tec is my number one right now for price and size. 7 rounds will be plenty. If I get into a shoot out... better friggin aim straight :P Though I dont expect that to happen. Most who carry never use them so I'm not too worried. It'd make me feel a lot more safe in some cases, however. Better to have and never need than to need and not have.

I want to put some $$ into my car - suspension setup so I'm not sure if I can budget for the glock or Springfield. I'd like to go to a shop to compare the 3. I had a glock 23 (.40 cal). I loved it but I had to sell it. I'd like smaller, however. AND I'm looking for 9mm so I can actually afford to shoot the thing :P

Have you talked to Phempa about this one yet?

I voted Glock. Both for experience(shooting/handling, not owning) and from what ive heard from friends/family.

The Kel-Tec would be a good little piece if your going for size/weight, but you get what you pay for.

The glock may have a few minor things, but in the end, id choose it over the others.

You should look into that new Sig Sauer that just came out. I think it is a .40 cal.

Smith & Wesson makes a nice 9mm too.

I like Glock, Springfield Armory, Taurus, Stern & Ruger, Heckler & Koch, and many others

For concealed carry, nothing beats .45acp 10+1

Sigs arent bad, Taurus isn't bad either.

My sister has the XD 40, my dad deals with the XDs a lot, too. There's some guys doing independent stress tests on the XDs - 5000 rounds without cleaning, leaving them in dirt, mud, water, not oiling them, shooting cheap rounds, all kinds of stuff. They're made by a Croatian company HS Produkt, but Springfield makes them now.

The subcompact is around 400-415 and they can hold 10 rounds but with the mag extender (comes with the gun) that increases to 16 rounds.

Barrel: 3" Steel, Melonite, Fully Supported Ramp
Sights: Dovetail Front and Rear (Steel) 3 - Dot
                          Trigger Pull: 5.5-7.7 lbs.
                          Frame: Black Polymer
                          Slide: Forged Steel, Melonite Finish
Recoil System: Dual Spring with Full Length Guide Rod
                          Length: 6.25"
                          Height: 4.75" w/Compact Mag.
                          Height: 5.5" w/Extended Mag.
Weight: 26 oz. w/Compact Mag (empty)
Weight: 27 oz. w/Extended Mag (empty)

Seriously. If you have the extra money don't get a cheap gun. And if you do, get a Makarov. At least they've lasted 50 years and can still shoot pretty straight. They're a copy of a Walther.

If you want the gun to last, don't go cheap.

Well I personally carry a Ruger P95 9mm and its priced around $390. it has great reviews and its my self defense gun. Put over 3000 rounds through it and I havent had any Malfunctions. I've even heard 10,000 rounds and no problems so check it out.

I am looking toward getting a Springfield XD Sub-Compact 9mm for conceal carry purposes since its smaller and I have my CC license . So Springfield would make a good choice.

Just dont get a Glock, I wanted one at one time and if more and more Cops are complaining about them, why buy one.
