                        I never did understand that car. It sounds like an L6 missing a cylinder.

                        The engine is longitudinally mounted, and is STILL FWD. Now, only Honda can pull that kinda shit off!

                          Maybe because it IS an L6 with a missing cylinder, lol. They're a pretty interesting setup....normal trans except instead of the driveshaft coming out the rear, the rear is capped and the drive shaft makes a 180* with gears internally back to the differential which is incorporated as an all-in-one into the engine oil pan.

                              It is odd. They run the driveshaft through the oil pan, like a lot of longitudinally mounted AWD cars.

                              Oddly, I don't know about the Vigor, but I know the 2nd gen Legend had a PTO yoke inside the tranny that pointed right toward the rearend, which would have been able to accomodate a diff. It is like WTF! At least make AWD available!

                              The longitudinal layout also improves weight distribution and front overhang, because everything isn't in front of the axle centerline.
