yeah same here, i have to pay 200somethin dollars for insurance for my cb7 just to keep it in my drive way other wise i would have gotten fined for an "abonded vehicle" thats in my drive way that just in the back of the driveway

To some people, a car is a car. But to people like us, its so much more than just a car. Its a getaway. Its our hiding spot. Its our comfort. Its an extension of ourselves.

down the street theres a family with a white prelude that's pretty much rusted to shit. probably the only good things on it are the rims. i should ask them to sell them to me if they ever decide to get rid of the car, i'll swap them my 14" steelies that can go to the junker.

haha I've got my old 91 lx sitting in my driveway. The only problems I've had is 4 notices on it from some place that tows junked cars for free haha. Kind of hurts. But I live in a neighborhood where there's not too much traffic, and down the street is some old mechanic who has probably 8 old VW's and shit sitting all over his lawn.

well, im a city worker, i used to work in sanitation department, but not everyday would i do garbage collections, i would be put on a job called "litter" basically people would call in saying theres like a couch in their alley waythat someone dumped and they want it removed...anyways, getting to my point, if SEVERAL people call in reporting someone who had a MESSY yard, we would go and inspect it. we would give them a notice to clean up. after 30 days, if they had no cleaned up, we would take a garbage truck to their house, and remove everything ourselves, and then send them a bill.

i suggest you insure it, maybe even storage insurance? either that or have a talk with your neighbors....someones reported you...anyone near your house trying to sell their house???

I hadn't thought of that... yeah, the guy 2 doors down is trying to sell.

And you know what? He had a mustang in his back yard for the longest time.

Whatever. It's not an eyesore. It's an old car on stands... and you can't tell it's on stands unless you're IN my yard. You just see the back of it from the street.

I'll register it, insure it, and do as I please with it.

I'm HOPING that a passing cop noted the VA tags on it (I left Pat's tags on it, since he said he won't need em back... better than having nothing on it, I figured...) If a cop saw it, then he was just doing his job. Cool. If a neighbor reported it... that really sucks. Nobody has come to me about it, and I'd truly have preferred that (and cared a LOT more... at this point, I'm just going to make it legal... I don't care how it looks.)

they just might, when i got my 5speed i was thinking about ether fixing up my old lx or use it for parts since the motor on the lx was shot. one day, the fire inspectors saw the lx without plates and told my landlord that the car has to be registered legally or to get rid of it. if i didn't do either or, my old landlord would get fined. i have a driveway, not a messed up yard, and they still bitched about it. since we don't live to far apart, the township were you live may have a similar law, and may say something about your lx on jackstands. its funny though, my boy who got a house and a big yard in camden, has got a lot of cars in his yard, and some of them aren't even registered and he doesn't get harassed one bit, go figure.

Cutting your grass so you could actually see the wheels would help too

seriously, though, talk to the guy that is trying to sell the house. if it was him, maybe you can work something out. if not, then that's just wierd.
