what type of mac do you have versus what they have? because the drivers and things may be a lil different. so check that out before you do it, just to make sure you don't screw something up

Nope. They have Intel Macs, you have a PPC mac. It wouldnt work.

          fuck...

i was really leaning on that, because i had 3 at my disposal.

so...if i were to search online for what i needed...like ebay or something...what should i search for?

(i didn't realize there was that much of a difference, i didnt know you couldn't use the same install discs)

or if i were to download a bootleg copy...i wouldn't technically be stealing, because i lost the cd..well, my boss lost the cd.

Well, you would just want to look for an install DVD. Not sure how many PPC install DVDs youre going to find, since they dont make PPC macs anymore, but you might be able to find some.

Glad you got it figured out. Dudes over there are really good with this shit. Theyve helped me out with SO much shit, moreso when I used to run a Hackintosh, but even so. Theyre lifesavers.

I was going to suggest single user mode as well, but I guess you already got it.

As for the PPC/Intel install disc, as long as you get a retail version of the install disc, it doesn't matter. They only sell one version of the DVD, and it has everything on it.

For *cough* "questionable" mac stuff, a good site would be www.codez4mac.com

You could also get a torrent of the install disc using thepiratebay.org or scrapetorrent.com

Since you bought a copy of Leopard, I think your safe to have a "backup" copy of it. I bought a retail disc, but also burned a copy of that disc to always have with me (I have a 1GHz G4 17" PB that I lug everywhere).

Right, you need a retail version if you want to do that, he was going to be working with install discs that were shipped with Intel Macs, which dont have PPC software on them.
