The oil does not conduct electricity. I didn't watch the vid but I have seen this kind of videos for along time?

X2. The oil is non conductive, and also an excellent heat transfer medium, especially after they start aerating it, which causes it to circulate, I just wonder what happens after it starts collecting dust and other contaminants?

That's really cool. It'd be a bitch to move, though!

As for dust and contaminants... it can't be worse than a computer that collects dry dust. Probably a lot better, actually. I know I have a thick layer of dust on my internals, since I had the side panel of my case off for ages! (just put it back on after installing my new video card... my only good birthday present, thanks to Phempa! )

It's a shame fish wouldn't survive in there... that'd be awesome!

I have been wanting to do this...found this a while back

                http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/01/..._out_the_fans/

Of course they said at the end
"For simplicity's sake, we decided on vegetable oil - but we recommend motor oil."

                HA HA...
"My computer runs on mobile 1 synthetic"

they used vegy oil but somewhere else they said clear mineral oil would work even better, more so than engine oil?

Not sure as to using that fan in the oil....sure it'd work but a pump would prolly do better

                Important step...even for mineral oil??
                http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/01/...ans/page8.html

so their cost...aside from the computer electronics itself are
$155 .... on Toms they did it without the aquarium, just built their own case...more sealing involved...not sure of the cost

                cooooool
