    jdm related question

How would I go about finding out if something is jdm? I guess I'm looking for the provenance of the item. For instance, I've got a set of Kosei Grand Infest D4 15 inch wheels. http://www.koseijp.co.jp/engfl/specs/s_12_D4.htm

What I'm asking is: How do I find out if my wheels are jdm (made to be used in the Japanese Domestic Market) or if they were made to be used in the US or Europe or somewhere else?

Thanks for the info in advance.

Take the wheel off. Look on the back. There should be a stamp that reads "JAPAN", or "CHINA", or "USA", or "GERMANIE". You get the point. lol.

I think what he was refering to was how to find out if his rims are in fact originals, or copy's. In the middle of the rim, or under one of the spokes it should say MADE IN JAPAN or something in japanese. look for something on the underside of the wheel.

Made in Japan doesn't mean JDM.

Designed for and sold in the Japanese market = JDM

Exactly, you posted as I was typing this out. I want to know if my rims were originally made to be used in Japan. Just because something is made in Japan, does not make it JDM. It has to be intended for use in the Japanese domestic market. I already know they were made at the Kosei factory in China. I'm curious to know how everyone in this thread JDM Rim/Wheel Showoff!!! knows their wheels are JDM? I don't want anyone to think I'm knocking them or saying they aren't rolling true JDM, I just want to know how you know your rims were originally meant to be used in Japan?

I still dont get that. "Just because something is made in Japan, does not make it JDM"

Well, i get it, but i dont understand the whole thing. I would say you're gonna have to find a production number on the rim and look it up.

                GL though.
