The Knot... the best whiskey I've ever had

Yeah, I know it's not "good" stuff... but man, it's the smoothest, tastiest stuff I've ever had! My friend just got a bottle, and gave me a glass the other night. Fantastic. For any Irish whiskey drinkers out there, you have to try it! It's extremely smooth, with almost a vanilla hint to it.

Plus, the marketing for it is hilarious!

try woodford reserve, its like 5-10 bucks more for the same size bottle, but it makes that stuff taste like kerosene.

Between $25 and $32 is what I've heard. Unless it's become national, I think it's only sold in certain places. Luckily, NJ is one of those places

I haven't tried that yet... I'll have to give it a shot.

I had some Glenmorangie, 18 year old I believe, at Bar American in NYC a few months ago. That was really good stuff as well... but it had the standard whiskey burn that always makes my nose wrinkle. Even when I like something, I have that reaction. The Knot didn't do it, though.

I suppose I have odd taste, though... I've enjoyed Genesee over some pretty good microbrews...

            Awesome ad.

I've nev'r 'eard of it though. I've actually never really had whiskey....except for that Fireball Whiskey, good times.... lol. I love my rum and coke thank you.

On a side note, I had some crap called "Screech" one time....terrible, terrible stuff.

I make some wicked Irish cream... one ingredient I've been playing with is different whiskeys. Will have to give that a try.

I've tried brandy lately, not too shabby

Price doesn't always mean quality taste
I've tried a few of the cheaper spirit drinks, and honestly there were a few that I would rather take the critism from mates than pay the high price for the so called "good stuff"

Yeah, "good stuff" is often a matter of opinion. Granted, there are certain things that make it "good", such as age, method of distillation, filtering, what it's stored in, etc... Still, the taste is what really matters.

Matt, this stuff would probably make some kickass irish cream. Smooth with a vanilla overtone... It damn near tastes like cream already!
