You guys are too smart, haha. I figured you'd all guess though. Anywho, yes, that is ATF. It could also explain why my transmission has been shifting funny. I was told the ATF was changed when I bought the car, but it doesn't look like it. I'm running Wal-Mart crap through it right now to get as much gunk as I can out, gonna flush it out tomorrow and replace it with Honda ZF1 or whatever it is.

I'm gonna say REALLY old atf...I agree looks to low viscosity to be oil...could be though.
*edit
coolness...I was right.
Man I'll tell you what I did for customers who brought their cars in with tranny fluid like this...if it was regular not synthetic that is...I figured they were paying out the ass so I'd hook 'em up.
I'd drain, see that badness...fill...run around the block...drain...fill...run around the block...drain...and fill again.
Usually I would drain their old...refill...run around...drain and fill and it would be much cleaner.
Otherwise just filling once doesn't get everything out...and the fluid would still be VERY dark.
Essentially a flush...you really want to get all that crude out...
ALSO...did you check for metal flakes? small specks so long as they aren't to numerous are eh...ok...but big ones are big trouble

the person who you bought your car from probably got it done at jiffy lube.
id assume it was atf fluid since i see a ginormous hammer had to be used to break off the bolt.
