You can't just switch an engine to diesel. And the 2009 Accord will have diesel, but I wouldn't hold my breath for 60MPG.

Haha, like I said my dad can get 60 mpg in his Diesel Jetta with slow acceleration, coasting to red lights so he never has to stop and driving 65 on the interstate. Plus he has a scan gauge so he can monitor Throttle Positioning and Engine Load. Volkswagen listed the 2003 TDI Jetta as getting only 40 mpg.

nothing ventured, nothing accomplished. Everyone keep saying it wont work(including myself) so they dont even try the only option we really have. Being negatve is human characteristic and it works greatly in the oil giant's favor. I've stopped looking for cheap gas a long time ago

I know TDI Jettas are good cars. They get bad ass mileage as my friend had one in my diesel class in Waco. He only managed to get 50mpg which still isnt bad. The accord is new. Weight is gonna be a bit diff and so on. I havent seen it so cant comment much on it. Either way it should be interesting. It should be a bigger car compared to the jetta.

They need to come out with a diesel hybrid, you'd be able to reach 100mpg with an engine like that. If they do make one it would go to Europe first and then take 5 years to get to the US.
