I just got back form 12+ hours at the hospital. My dad has spent the last four days in the ER, and was admitted to the intensive care unit this morning when he started to slip into a coma.

he was diagnosed with having intense sleep apnea, and COPD, his carbon levels in his blood are extremely high, causing him to go into a deep sleep, not being able to wake up.

they have him on a bronchial dilator, (if i can remember thats what it was..) and if he dosn't improve, they will have to place a tube down his throat and into his lungs, helping him breathe.

Its been hard for my family to see him here. This is the first time i've ever seen my dad in the hospital. my family and I have always found my dad to be the strongest person we know.

and its extremely hard for me, seeing my dad in this helpless state. growing up, my dad has always been my superman. I always think of my dad as the man who loosened the bolts that I couldn't. I was such a whimpy kid growing up, and he was such a big, strong guy, who taught me how to be strong today.

Please, include him in your prayers,
I don't want to lose my dad.

sleep apnea is one of those deals that's misdiagnosed a lot. since he's the strongest person you know, then he'll pull out of it no problem. good luck

my real good buddy lost his dad like that they knew he had it and he had the machine to help his breathing.
but the machine didn't work one night. he was a truck driver and they couldn't get ahold of him for 2 days then they called the trucking company and they sent some one to the location of the truck becuase they found it with that gps stuff that they have on trucks to see where they are at.
and he died becuase of the machine. it either didn't kick on or malfunctioned during the night. and he died.
that was bad. this is a very very bad thing for anyone to have.
