    Volt Output

I have a digital Cap. for my system and I am questioning the reliability of my alternator and battery so lately i've been keeping a close eye on the volt meter. When i start my car up it gives me a steady 14.4 reading, while driving with my headlight, foglights and system on it will give me reading about 12.xx and ocasionally drop to 10.xx, with just my system on it will lurk around 12-13. I was just wondering if this is normal. If any of your guys have a volt meter keep an eye on it and let me know what kind of reading you are getting. thanks.

I put my stereo in not too long ago and I did what you are doing. kept the VOM in for a ride, and it waivered between 10 and 15, and havent had any problems with it yet. stock alternator btw.

i noticed something this morning while driving to work...while driving with nothing on it give me a reading about 12.5, thats with traffic and none. when i put on my system and foglights it drop and lurks around high 11. if i shut off my system and foglight but i put on my headlight it will jump to 14.xx, but once i shut them off it goes back down to 12ish. So i put on all three now (headlights, foglights, system) and when you put on the headlights it goes up but then slowly goes down. the only thing that i am thinking is that since honda built the car to incorporate the electricity used by the headlights, when your turn them on it sends somekind of signal to the alternator to work harder. share your insight with me
