    The H23A Tensioner conversion

Yesterday i did The H23A Tensioner conversion on my H22, and i noticed that when i was installing the timing belt, the timing belt was really hard to install, because it was really tight. Is this normal? Or was i also supposed to install a H23 timing belt? I bought all the parts that you were supposed to buy, and i read the Tensioner Conversion sticky thread, but i can't figure out if that is normal or not, and will it damage my engin?
    Thank you for the help.

i ended up having to put the h23 water pump on. the h22 water pump has a big water pump and i couldn't get that timing belt on their to save my life. it runs good with the h23 water pump as far as i can tell.

and the h23 timiing belt is too short and has a different spacing on the teeth.
