EXT: polishing the stainless steel window trim

this is for those who like the bling factor. most people call it chrome trim, but it is actually stainless steel.
Materials:
-metal polish (i perfer mothers)
-drill (electric is better)
-buffing wheel (at your local hardware store)
-masking tape
-cotton t-shirt
-toothpicks




1. tape of the areas around the trim, like the rubber seals and paint. (if you get burnt polish on the rubber, you can get it off with a dab of metal polish on the t-shirt)



2. spread the polish evenly like mayonaise on the trim, not to much or it will fling everywhere. make several slow passes back and forth with the buffer wheel. reapply more polish as needed, until you can see a clear reflection in the trim.



3. remove the tape and remove burnt polish from trim and rubber. use toothpicks to get the polish out of the cracks. use metal polish on a t-shirt to get off polish resin.

i bought that back to black shit.....doesn seem to work....is there a trick to the shit.....it didnt make my moldings black and doesnt get old wax off roof gutters like it claims it can.

i dunno.. i haven't had moldings on my car since 2000
but sorry to hear it doesn't work.. maybe kmart can help you with it coz it worked for him

maybe......i ended up using wd-40 to remove the old wax on the roof gutters.....it worked well but also removed the nice fresh wax job too.. and i forgot you didnt have moldings........

it works sometimes, but IMO it is very much like shoe polish. later.
