Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

theyre gonna list alot of numbers. usually for length, width, diameter and inlet/outlet diameter... as well as if theyre centered or offset.

      i would say ..go for a muffler with a 2.5 inlet...and a 4 inch outlet...
anything oval shaped with large inlet --exit should be good..designed for silence...a straight through design means the muffler rids the sound through absorbtion instead of cancellation and therefore is quieter....if you go with an oval shape...it will be quieter <sp> and will have 2.5 inlet and a large exit so it silences and doesnt increase backpressure..that would be your best bet...
right now i have a straight muffler or glasspack design and it makes my ears rattle sometime...magneflow would be a good bet for you...

Reading pwns you 93EXaesthetic. He says he wants it to be loud and not cheap sounding. Which makes me wonder, why on earth would you want that? If you want loud then do a straight pipe, and make it nice and big. I don't think this is a serious question so i won't waste anymore time on this one.

I have a 3 inch setup and you cant hear my car until i floor it (But I also have a turbo...). My old 2.5 NA exhaust was not loud either. I had a Magnaflow cat in there with a resonator. My current setup is an OBX evo muffler, a 3 inch Magnafow Cat and a 3 inch resonator. Also the pipes pretty straight. Its not loud at all.

i just got a 2.5 catback...with a glasspack type configuration...its a little bit loud for my taste.... i might be selling it and going with something oval shaped plus high flowing....i am about engine quietness....i want to dynammat my floors...(already dynametted 4 doors and trunk)......i am going for the euro type r accord affect....lots of horsepower....but a quiet interior..thats my goal.....im not trying to make my car anorexic like some of you guys...taking out the soundproof and rear seats/ a/c etc.........but i am gonna try to drop a euro type r 220 hp engine in ..and turbo it....leave out my spare tire..and get carbon fiber hood and trunk..will be my wieght reduction plann....oh yeah racing seats too.....ok im done rambling

Get a Thermal R&D catback. That is exactly what it sounds like. DEEP and pretty loud and has a very nice tone to it

if you are talking about pipe size, they say 100hp per inch. 300hp=3in. exhaust. 150=1.5 exhaust. if you had only 120hp and you put 3in. pipes, the exhaust gasses would loose momentum. later.
