I'm not sure where this goes I'm new to this forum site so... I lowered my 93 accord on some coilover sleeves it was only lowered about an inch maybe 1-1/2 inches, but when I started to drive it, it would shake. So we changed out the rack and pinon and all 4 struts and the front sway bar bushings. I drove it again and when I began to slow down it would shake. Back when we changed the struts out I looked at my tires and there were gashes in the tires. Not bad gashes but noticeable. So I raised it to what its at now. Im wondering how I would get rid of the piece of metal in the wheel well

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

First - Welcome to the site. Read the rules, enjoy it here. lots of info & lots of help.
Regarding your issue. Why didn't you troubleshoot anything?
It sounds like you just replaced random parts to eliminate the shaking? The initial shaking was caused by something that was loose. Lowering your car 1 1/2" shouldn't cause shaking or rubbing or gashes in your tires.
So at the first shake you should of jacked it up and spun the tires manually while looking under there to see what is going wrong. You should of also wiggled your tires (9&3 position / 12&6 position) to check for wiggling.
As for the piece of metal in your wheel well now. Well you'll have to explain that one a bit further. Everything under there is suppose to be there.
Some pictures would really help here.

My uncle shook the wheels at the 9&3 and the 12&6 position. I honestly don't
know what I would be looking for. I just recently got into working into my car.
I'm in Chattanooga right now and I live in murfreesboro so I'll have pics up
hopefully sunday to show you what I mean about the metal... I know its kinda
hard to understand what I'm saying sorry...

check to see that your axles have no play when you push it up and down. at the same time rotate the wheel and keep checking for play. I ran into an issue like this and never could figure it out. Went under there one day and noticed that it had play, as well as rotating in an oval LOL.What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

believe they are just generic coilover sleeves though. Also the struts are just
some gabriel ultras you can get them at autozone for like I think 50 for back and
54 for front. Also I haven't got it aligned yet I plan on getting it aligned this
weekend if I have the money.

1. Don't use generic coilovers.
2. Don't use generic coilovers on OEM or factory replacement struts.
3. You must get an alignment anytime you repair or replace anything in the suspension or steering system.1993 SE Coupe MRT - 1992 LX Sedan MRT

Bottom line, NEVER USE CHEAP SUSPENSION COMPONENTS... Also Ground Control doesn't make struts, they resell struts, usually Koni, they don't even make springs, they use Eibach. Ground Control makes sleeves. New tires on incorrect cheap springs with worn/bad/cheap suspension just means you fix nothing and throw more money in the trash in the form of tires.Last edited by wildBill83; 07-27-2013, 07:12 PM.1993 SE Coupe MRT - 1992 LX Sedan MRT
