ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    90-91/92-93 Trunk Styles

Ok, so I was wondering what is the difference between these trunk lids? I read comments about "I`m gonna do the 92-93 trunk swap, and vica versa. Are they talking about the style that has the amber up top with the reverse lights built in(hard to see them) Or the style like mine, where the amber is at the bottom and reverse lights are white... I have no idea, lol..
Can someone please explain, and or post pics to help me understand this?

    Thank you

on the 90-91's the lock placement is different as well as the light orientation. (i'll post pics) the 92-93 sedan and coupe tail lights are different from each other.

    90-91

    92-93 coupe

    92-93 sedan

many people do a trunk swap to be able to have RED/CLEAR tails and they don't make any for the coupe so they swap on a sedan trunk and can get those tails. some people just like the look of the 92-93 tails better.

EDIT: if you want to see the wagon tails, here they are. now i didn't see any pictures that made the 90-91 tails looking different from the 92-93 tails in my google search but here is atleast what i found for you.

^ That's pretty much it right there.

9091 sedans and coupes share the same tail lights and trunks. Red clear tail lights are readily available for them all over ebay.

9293 sedans have a slightly facelifted trunk/tails, which to many people looks better than the 9091s. Red clears also available for them, but they seem to be harder to find than the 9091s.

9293 coupes have a trunk lid and inner tail lights specific to them. The trunk lid will fit on any 90-93, but it's the inner tail lights on the trunk lid that are unique, and there are no aftermarket ones made for them. If you have a 9293 coupe and want aftermarket tails, you'll need to swap your trunk from another car.

Personally, I think the 9293 trunk/tails are the best looking of the bunch.

All wagons have unique tail lights and are not interchangable with any sedans or coupes.

To do the trunk swap is completely straight forward. Unplug all your bulbs, and pull the wire harness out. Unbolt the lid from the hinges. Remove your lock if you wish to reuse it in the new trunk.

Then put the new trunk on, bolt it up, run the wire harness back through, install your lock and you're done.

So I'm assuming cb7 tails have the amber actually molded into the lenses and its not just a piece INSIDE the tail light?

yes that is right FatManChunk in the DIY section i believe it is, someone tried to make red clears out of the OEM tails and that removes the reflectors. basically you have to "chip" away the color and it didn't turn out too well for them (if i remember correctly)

you can still LOOK at other sections (i think, don't hold me to it) even if you can't post in other sections. the only sections that add to your post count are Beginner Technical/Performance,
Beginner Appearance, and Beginner Audio/Electronics. the other two sections (Beginner "Off Topic", Beginner Image Gallery) do NOT add to your post count

Are those 18 inch rims with stock suspension? Im asking because it looks pretty nice, I have a coupe also, but I have 16 inch rims and I dont know if I should lower it or just go for a bigger set of rims, and I was thinking how would 18 inch rims look on stock suspension. If anybody has any idea please let me know. Thanks.
