Exclamation how long does bondo last?

Today I put bondo on the my car because we took the rust spot out and filled it. How long will the bondo stay there. I use the car on a daily basis. I live in Nebraska and the weather is unpredictable. Snow, rain, or just normal. How long will the bondo hold?

Fairly sure it won't degrade. If you didn't put it in correctly, it will fall out when you hit a bump.

I'm interested in other responses to this. I'll be fixing my quarter panels within the month using Bondo and want to see what it'll do.

To fill a rust hole? A few months, before it starts to crack.

ive had bondo last me a long time as long as you dont use a shit ton of it in one spot. You have to weld or rivet a piece of metal and just use the bondo to smooth it out.

That;s really how bondo should be used. Not as a big gap filler, but to smooth out the rough spots.

Bondo is not meant to fill in holes. It WILL crack.

If you can't weld or use a drill and rivet gun, kitty hair/fiberglass filler would be better than Bondo. It will still crack over time and it won't stop the rust ether. Bondo really shouldn't be used for anything other than smoothing out small dents and imperfections before painting.

All depends really. In an area like the quarter panel where you repaired, it's prone to collecting moisture.

I can see within a few months, or by next spring, it may have the potential to crack.

I've seen many many times, where I car has bondo patches on the body and literally huge chunks of the bondo have fallen off.

Bondo is a repair aid, not a repair kit.
