Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    12" Jl W04

    I just picked up two 12w04 subs for $40.00. These things
    are mint. I got them from an older gentlemen that comes
    into my shop to get his propane filled. He said his son had
    these in his supra back in 98-99, and have been sitting
    in his closet ever since.

    My question is, what type of box would you guys reccomend
    for these subs ? I tested the subs last night on a friends jeep,
    and they both work perfectly. I'm just in need of a box.

    What do you guys think ?

    Also, you might try emailing JL and give them the info on trunk dimensions, amp and subs, then asking what enclosure they recommend. They sent me plans for a custom bandpass when I did.

      I did that, and he said the speakers are discontinued,
      and that he couldn't help me out.

      What an asshole.

      He just wants me to invest money in their newer products.

        Really? What a douche. Mine were discontinued also and the guy was very helpful. Try this guy: jose.rodriguez@jlaudio.com Then send an email to someone and complain about the first guy.

        Those are pretty old subs though. You might have some dry rot problems with them. I don't know what the shelf life on unused speakers is.

            i know they were sitting for awhile, but man they
            look beautiful. they are still in brand new condition
            and sound great! i will try emailing that guy, and
            see what he has to say.

              you can actually get info on box requirements for any sub discontinued or not on jls website.
