    URGENT! Transmission won't shift! HELP!

I just came home from the grocery store 5 min. ago. when I went out to move my car, my reverse, park or neutral gear won't engage when shifted to it. I've got an automatic. I'm totally CLUELESS as to why it won't work. Also when the car is on and in Park or Reverse, it moves forward. When I kill the ignition, the car acts like its in neutral when its in the Park position. I really need somone's help here.

D4 works but D3, 2 and 1 don't. Anyone run into this issue? What could it be?

so those two things on the front of the trans? any way to test for them? I don't have a CEL or anything idk if a TCU would trigger one.

so how many are there total? like 4? would any fluid gush out once they're removed? I had my trans. rebuilt about 3 yrs ago w/ a new torque converter and shift solenoids...approx 36k miles ago. Are you sure its those? its sounds like it is, but man, thats kinda hard to believe.

Well it could be the TCU like I said.

anything to look out for? would it look burnt or corroded once its off the car? I can hopefully run to the JY before work and grab some off a low mileage CB7

well there is a little metal screen behind them, it could be clogged?

okay, yeah that makes sense too. When i was shifting into reverse, the cable kinda hard to move but now it just moves freely up through all the gears like nothing's engaging.

how would i inspect it? from underneath? or would I have to remove my center console and the surround around the shifter?

up until this randomly happened my transmission shifted perfectly through all 4 gears. I really have no clue now damnit! I hate this crap....no warning, it doesn't shift into reverse, park or neutral. I don't get it. It sounds more like a cable went, since when in Park, Reverse, Neutral the car kinda wants to move forward.

All you would have to do to see if its the cable

lift the car, take off the cover on the trans where the cable goes in, and have a friend move the shifter and see if its moving the trans.

so the cable cover would be right near the Downpipe correct? yeah i guess i'll have to jack it up, b/c my car was shifting perfectly up until this, and then when I shifted back into park, and killed the ignition, the car just rolled back on my driveway
