ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I spose its possible, but cars equipped with factory sun roofs have additional support. If you just cut out a hole you're going to loose some roof rigidity and that probably be unsafe and unwise to do.Originally posted by deevergote..It's not cheap to build a fast CB7, especially NA. However, if you're willing to put the money into the car, it's well worth it in the end. There ARE faster cars out there, but some people, like me, want THIS particular car to be fast!...

there are professional shops that will do the work but you would have to scout out the oem parts if you so decide to go with that -junkyard. or you can go with the aftermarket sunroofs that are manual pop-ups but im sure there are electronic sunroofs but those would cost you more.
i wouldnt understand how the roof would be less rigid if you completely swap it over with oem parts. or how unsafe it would be?? cuz im thinking convertibles have no top, so how unsafe is that?

Hardtop cars and sunroof/convertible cars are built completely different, conv. cars have a rigid frame and alot of supports designed into them, same with sunroofs and t-top cars. You could do it but I would suggest looking for an EX that already has one. You just asking for leaks and other problems swapping one in. Sorry to rain on your parade I just wanted to give some advice, remember its your car and you decide how to build it.

besides all the stuff mentioned at the top, cars with factory sunroofs have a little lip that goes all the way around made when they stamped out the roof. it would be possible to recreate it, but you would have to be a really good metal fabricator. and as for aftermarket sunroofs, i've never seen one that looked half decent or didn't leak.

The EX (what I drive) has a frame support running the width of the roof of the car before and after the sunroof.
FYI: The 'sunroofs' that pop-up but don't slide in or out of the way are called 'moon-roofs', since they don't have direct access to the outdoors like a 'sunroof' does. 'Moon-roofs' are fairly inexpensive, the installation cost is what brings the cost above $150-200.
An aftermarket 'sunroof' will cost you a good $200-300 + installation, if you want one that doesn't leak and offers OEM-like interfacing.
