Damn the interior on the 90-91 EX was nicer than the LX one. Gimme the rear seat.

the flexpipe has a very bad leak in it. i think thats whats contributing to making the car run lean, as the o2 sensor doesnt get full readout of the exhaust..

              anyhoo i shopped around:
              - replaced at firestone: $540
              - cut/weld flexpipe at meineke: $208
              - new autozone downpipe: $185

my solution: chrome ebay header & downpipe for $78 shipped!! lol!! its on its way

yesssss... finally got the new 9091 bumper painted and installed!

oneoffaccord painted the bumper and 9293 lip for me today so i installed it after work.

it actually lined up really well (car had been in an accident).

the color isnt perfect, it matches the hood (same paint). its weird because the paint came from a can of NH-0 Championship White, and it definitely looks championship white... i think the car isnt actually the right color. its a little closer to frost white than it is champ white. oh well, its close enough.

i also recently replaced the front window trim, it flew off on the highway a long time ago.

i also peeled the rest of the tape strips off of the rear bumper lip.

exhaust should be showing up any day now.

Hmm, that's actually not looking too shabby I must say.

I read somewhere that you couldn't get true champ. white unless you bought it from Honda?

That car always looked a little too white for the color.

                    thanks mike.

not sure about that statement, any color is color-matchable. larrys paint wasnt OEM but i remember reading NH0 Championship White right on the side of it. championship white is overrated anyway, its too much of an eggshell white... just like taffeta white on teh civics... frost white kicks ass. though this car is a brighter white than Frost, its not as yellow as championship.

just an update on the car.

its running pretty crappy. i pulled the plugs and did a compression test while it was warm, and got:

                            195 - 205 - 150 - 215

then assuming oil had gotten into the cyls from the leaking tube seals, i ran it a while and then did it again.

                            185 - 200 - 115 - 195

the headgasket appears to be leaking oil out along the back of cyls 1-3, possibly the front too but i cant tell if its oil or power steering fluid :P there is no oil getting into the coolant, i dont lose coolant, and it doesnt overheat. oil pan gasket is leaking too, so the whole back of this block is pretty wet :\

it runs very rough, missing once a rotation at idle because cyl 3 is basically dead, nothing happens when i pull its plug wire. its got an internal tick that i cant locate and runs loud and weak at low RPMs, yet pulls harder than normal when its revved (?) gets 25 / 27 mpg. im not sure whats actually wrong with this motor, if its just a leaking headgasket or if a piston ring is bad, how else could i tell?

anyway im putting chrisisiced's old f22 into it while keeping the existing clean manifolds and accessories. then im pretty sure my brother is going to buy it from me.

also somebody gave me a pair of HID ballasts and old bulbs for free. they are MeccaTune ballasts which appear to be nonames. ultimately ill use these ballasts for fogs for my coupe, with new bulbs. but after testing, both ballasts work! one of the bulbs flickers a little

anybody recognize what base this bulb is, and which way should it be facing in the housing? or are these bulbs for projectors lol. i have no idea.

stock vs. hid comparison. no cutoff pic because there was nothing in front of the car...

                            ouch.

heres a couple other semi-recent pictures:
