ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

New guy intro and a conversation

First I think I owe the forum an introduction, I'm Rich and I own a 1990 Accord coupe EX with a Euro R swap and some other minor goodies

I am not new to Hondas, I had an 8th Gen Si coupe with I must admit quite a few expensive mods on it ( sadly this is the only picture I have of it still)

Anywho I figured I'd put my name and pics out there and strike up a conversation.

"No torquey, front-drive econobox should feel this ruthlessly precise. "Honda" and "torquey," are words not generally found in the same sentence. The company's high-performance four-cylinders have historically been jewel-like masterpieces with screaming redlines, but many of them would be hard-pressed to twist the lid off a pickle jar."

Copy/pasted this from a quote someone posted in one of the new ctr threads.
I always scratch my head when people talk about Hondas not having torque, especially since no one bothers to mention a car that does have torque. Surely most people would mention cars like the Supra and Skyline (or Corvette and Viper if talking about American cars) but then it's really an oranges to apples comparison isn't it? I can't really think of any other compareable cars that made much more torque than Hondas, an N/A 1.6 liter is only going to make so much torque whether it's a Honda or a VW or anything else. What are ya'lls thoughts?

correct, they are CE28's, this set was 17X8 (which fit better than the 17X9's I had before).

Welcome to the site. So i have to ask since you are the only person I've met in 8+ years that bought a legit red top. Do you notice the difference?

Say... compared to a black top H22 or a K series? Is it like a spoon S2000 engine feel ?

I've never owned (or even ridden in) an H-series powered car before I bought my swap. It pulls pretty good all the way to redline though, much like my civic did. It would be hard for me to compare my accord vs. my civic since there was a good amount of time between when I got rid of the civic and had the swap in and tuned. Also I went from a close geared 6 speed to fairly long geared 5 speed. IIRC I can hit something like 90 in 2nd gear at redline. I can tell you this, I can appreciate the difference between the stock engine (I had the F22A4 with the "good" exhaust manifold) and the H-series.

I bought the euro R because I knew that the things that helped it make more power than other H-series stock would compliment well chosen bolt-ons aswell. I figure a better starting point is a better in the end unless I were to change everything (in which case I would have opted for a "lower" model H-series to build off of.
