The best way to make these work is to slip the mounting plate with 2 holes underneath your fender lip and then screw through the fender and mounting plate. It's secure and has no play.

This way, your hood sits completely flush when closed. I am very happy with the end result.

Oh thank goodness this was bumped up. I never thought to look this far down the thread. Glad to find some 1st gens installed finally! Thanks for all the pictures crazymikey!

Wait so do the studs come with the package or you need to buy them separately? I'm talking about the part needed to attach to the actual hood

He should have that part by itself.

I got them at a local shop and they were not included with the purchase and I honestly forgot I bought them, I have been sitting on the for probably close to a year.

I got some hood props off of an 99 cl last weekend got them cleaned up and going to install them some time this week. I know they will most likely be short a little but thats ok if they are. Its just a new option for us. I will still use the middle fender bolt location and drill and tap the middle of the hinge so if they are really short i can get the legend ones. I will post pics when i get it done.

Ok all so acura cl props dont work unless u drill and tap another hole in the fender about an inch behind the rubber stopper. So u am going to keep an eye out for the legend struts
