    Gas Prices Must Go Down!!!

Hey guys I have been getting emails and hearing from friends and family about this for a while now so I want to pass this on to as many people as possible and hopefully it will spread to all car forums on the net since we (THE CAR PEOPLE) buy the most gas....

    > Hello,
    >
    >
    >
    > We hear that gasoline prices will climb to $1.42/L by summer.
    >Do you want prices to fall? We must act intelligently. Last year, we
    >tried ''Don't buy gas on a certain day of the week''. Gas companies
    >laughed - they knew we couldn't continue to do without gas. It
    >turned out to be only a minor inconvenience for them, not a problem.
    >But now, there is something that might really work. CAA is already
    >putting pressure on gas companies - let's help! Regular lead free
    >gas costs approximately $0.78 $0.89, changing every day. We know we
    >are being skinned by gas companies and they are expected to Raise
    >the price a lot more!
    >
    > They say their supply is low... not true, actually, the supply
    >is extremely healthy. But by raising the price steadily, then
    >bringing it down a bit, raising again, they have us believe that gas
    >is cheap at $0.78/L ! It's time to show them that WE can control the
    >price of gas, not the gas companies. Let's hit them where it hurts -
    >their wallet (that's where they like to hit US, after all.) Here's
    >how. Let's start a price war!
    >
    > Philip Hollsworth suggests:
    >
    > For the remaining of the year, DON'T purchase gas from the 2
    >biggest gas companies (who are now one): PETRO CANADA and SHELL. If
    >they don't sell gas, they'll have to lower their prices. If they
    >lower their prices, others will have to follow... For this to be
    >successful, we must reach millions of consumers - especially
    >
    > PETRO CANADA and SHELL consumers.
    >
    > How?
    >
    > This message has originally been sent to 30 people. If each of
    >us sends this message to 10 people, who in turn send it to 10 more,
    >and so on, by the time this message reaches the 6th generation of
    >consumers, we will have reached 3 million consumers and if each of
    >these 3 million consumers send it to 10 more... you see what I
    >mean... And if each of us send it to 10 people the day we receive
    >it, we could have reached 300 million consumers in approximately 8
    >days! Who would have thought we had so much power...? Keep buying
    >gas elsewhere - not one of our pennies going to PETRO CANADA and
    >SHELL - until the price comes down to $0.64/L or less and stays
    >down.
    >
    > THIS CAN WORK! Don't forget to spread this message to other people.

    WE CAN DO IT!!!

this has been passed around and around forever... not gonna do anything. The last day was wednesday the 19th of may I think... did you see any price drops? Sooner or later you have to get gas, if people didnt buy it one day, they are gonna buy it the day before or after... If you could actually get people to buy less all the time, then prices would go down.

Yeah, It started back in the 70's with the last crisis, but boycoytting has been around for ages . I didn't buy just cause I had some in the tank. Gas is 2.10 here for Premium and I don't run anything but. Thank goodness for Honda, I still get great gas mileage.

it would work if more people drove hondas. sad, but true.

suv's bring in 100-200$ a tank for gas companies. they use up alot of gas and need to be filled all the time. the bigger / less efficent the engine and the more accessories the car has, the more gas is required to run it. finally they are starting to charge extra money to people who buy gas guzzling vehicles but its not enough.

gas for suv's should be 1.50/litre and cars which use less should cost less.

The trickle effects are going to compound the problem...

more and more simple unrelated products are going to rise in cost too.. simply because it costs more to ship products to stores and retailers... the airlines did it and more will follow...

We are getting double screwed because large companies won't share any of the profit loss and must maintain the profit margin to kep stockholders happy...

at least I have a really good reason to laugh my ass off at all the SUV drivers.... saw a guy spend over 50 bucks to fill up his Stupid Ugly Vehicle at the pump right next to me the other day...

Although if you think about it... that's not a good thing either... they already drive like they are indestructible and you'd better get out of the way or they'll crush you and walk away... pissed off SUV drivers is a bummer for all of us not driving 5-6000 lb vehicles...
