ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Can anyone help me identify a cam?

So I bought a cam from bisi maybe 10 years ago for my f22a and i can’t remeber what it’s suposed to be. I called web and they say it’s a stage 2. I called bisi they say that web identifies cams differently from them sometimes, but have not been able to identify it as of yet. I was wondering if someone here might know what I have.
It’s stamped web of corse and the numbers are 766•265 any help would be Appreciated.

I would trust WEB more than bisi as they are the ones producing it. The numbers you see on it are most likely master grind numbers (no relation to actual specs). They are the ones handling the masters, they know what it means. Trust WEB.

It could possible be a Webcam. I don't see a cam listed as a 265, but maybe it's an old one they don't make anymore:

Bisimoto camshafts were produced by WEB according to Bisi's specs. At least that's what the claim was, anyway. Chances are, if that's true, that stamp may have only been applied to the Bisimoto-spec camshafts. Bisimoto SHOULD be able to identify their product, but it wouldn't hurt to take measurements as Erik described to have a better idea. If you come at them with the measurements, they might be able to dig deep into their records to find the information on the parts that put them on the map in the first place...

If anything, you'll know the measurements... which is actually far more valuable than knowing what "stage" it is. Especially since Bisimoto has been known to ship bone-stock camshafts to people, calling them "Stage 2".

I know for a fact that WEB refer to their grinds with a master grind number (three digits). I have worked with them in this regard and they should be able to provide you at least 6 different durations at a corresponding amount of lifts which describes not only the general specs but a very detailed ramp profile. I doubt Bisimoto have designed a ramp on their own, it must be web that is designing it and keeping a list of specs in their archive. With this info missing on their web page is only an indication of obsolete product, but the details might still be accessible through them.

In general, producing a ramp profile is not an easy job, it involves some extensive math-work that can only be done by a company with a background in the field. Grinding a ramp without the use of this math will backfire in bent valves 90% of the time.
