ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Plastidip on trim

Is good idea to apply it on the trim and/or the badges on my cb? I wanna know if it's durable and how much time approx it last. Anyone with photos?

    Thanks...

I tried, it looks good if you can do it right (taking the trim off first) but otherwise it's a huge pain. And if you ever want it off it probably won't come off, for some reason it sticks to the trim like paint

I sprayed my wagon moldings with it. Looked alright. Has a slight texture to it.

Personally, I hate this stuff after spraying several things with it, and I'll never use it again.

In this pic, the whole front bumper, the side modings and the lip are sprayed with it.

whats with the plastishit fad on here?

I've used Duplicolor trim paint for years, its the right sheen to restore plastic trim. They are texture coatings available as well to restore the texture to plastic trim

Yeah no shit, there was a thread a month or so back when this dude was ready to swear on the life of his first born how tight Plastidip was... I hadn't ever heard of it until then.

I believe the entire science behind Plastidip is basically "removable paint" so if you just want to paint something temporarily or test some shit out then go ahead and use it.

But I'm with Accrdwgnguy, it seems like a lot of cats on here have been using it for a lot of shit for some reason... I'm not really underdiggalating.

This! stuff is awesome. I too have used it for years. Works great on interior panels too, its looks oem. Not too shiny, so it doesnt look painted.

Plastidip doesn't even come off easily. That shit is just as bad as removing regular paint. And twice as messy.

              Fuck plastidip.

I was thinking to apply it on the windows chrome trim. That will be exposed to the weather (sun, rain, etc.) frequently. But I don't know if it's a good idea. The fact that you can remove it if you want so, sounds good. But I wanna know if it's durable, if it doesn't gets toasted by the sun, etc.

Just use trim paint if you want it to last and look good, bottom line.

Like anything else, it really depends on how well u clean the surface, your painting technique, and painting conditions.

if you paint it in direct sunlight on a hot day, you are going to get a textured dull surface.
Ive used plastidip on bmw trim, grills, and mudflaps. the stuff is awesome but not cheap. If you are using it for trim, remove ( the removable parts ) to do it correctly. Not wrapping the paint around the edges will result in premature failure.

Personally I love PlastiDip. You have to know how to spray it. If done correctly you get a smooth finish. Sometime next year I will be Dipping my 05 LGT Matte White. Main reason for it, Price. It's also removable and helps protect the OEM paint. You don't just apply one coat and expect it to look Amazing. It takes a minimum of 4 Coats and personally the end result looks awesome.
