f23a1 tranny help

for the past couple of days i have been doing research and trying to get the right info and if i have to keep track of the answers im hearing a equal amout of yes and no so im trying to take the best advice i can get.. ok here is the issue..

i bought 90 accord that has a F23A1 Automatic Vtec engine in it and the transmission is no longer engaging in the car. i have called junk jards and various jdm part suppliers and what i am hearing is that i can get the f22a vtec tranny and use it with my f23a1 motor i wanna know if that is possible the other thing that ive heard is that i can use an h22a tranny and that too will work with my vtec accord. so i called around trying to find out more and one guy says yes and another at a different company says no i know that there are people here who are very car oriented please help me get to the bottom of this because i dont wanna buy the wrong transmission for my car

i know the best thing i can probably do is buy the f23a1 tranny and not have to worry about problems arising but if i can get a saying as to which one will work i will gladly appreciate the help as the f23 tranny are very scarce in florida and also expensive

I don't think there was an F22Ax with vtec ever, they are mistaken and meant to say F22Bx.

Like in your other thread, i suggested sticking with the F23A auto tranny to fully utilize the engine and especially since you are auto still. You could befriend a bunch of the Florida guys and ask for help in a 5spd swap if you've got the money for such a project or you could try places like,www.tigerjapanese.com. Granted people have mixed feelings about them because they are in Canada, and i've never bought anything from them but have thought about it a lot.

i know i found this one jdm place jdmenginezone and the guy quoted me 655 delivered to my door or shop and thats what im gonna jump on does the tranmission case have a code for the f23a i think ive seen in the pics that they have two different codes baxa and maxa or something to that nature where would i find that at as for the manual swap money is not the issue and neither is the mechanic the problem is he is in the army and is going away soon so as a gift he is going to fix my tranny for me when i get the replacement i asked if he would swap but he only has another two weeks here and he is working hard and doesnt have the time now because he is leaving so i cant be too picky i have other people i just dont know if i can trust them yet lol. and as for tigerjapan.com i called and they quoted me 591 for the tranny and 250 delivered to me which is way outta my budget
