ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Alot of good ideas have been discussed... Do you have any friends working at a shop? I once took a car to the shop, had them remove the stuck nut and put it back on, making it easy as could be to remove later, and they only charged me a few dollars but saved me tons of headache.

If you don't have an impact wrench, and can't get it loose with a breaker bar, that's the best option. When I did mine, I had a wrench with a 3 foot extension pipe over it, and I wound up standing on the end of it. I weigh 220 pounds, by the way. It still wouldn't budge. So I drove it down to a shop, and paid $20 to have them break it loose.

                All you guys breaking shit;

Are you guys using a torch to heat the nut a couple times first? Try that next time.

Map gas torch is about a twenty dollar investment. Huge difference.

I use acetylene, and it works great.

I bet I could take the axle nut off without a breaker bar at all. Heat from torch and blasting fluid-done correctly- and this was cake.

                Also, use a 6pt socket vs a 12.

It'll turn easier. I'm sire I'm not the only one laughing about all of these grypes. This is an easy process as long as you approach it right.

No ill admit I haven't tried heat, but ill just rip it with the air gun since its coming. But I agree about the differences in the 6 and 12pt socket. I was using a 12 and it started stripping my axle nut. I quickly went and got a 6pt which ill be using with the air gun tomorrow.

Mmm no. Your laughting? We'll let's give everyone else a chance to laught at you now.

Never use a torch unless you are completly replcing the parts your torching. Heating anything up weakens the metals structure since things are heat treated by the manufacture to withstand sheering. You heating up your axle nut might as well scrap your wheel bearing cause you just burned out all the grease inside the sealed bearing, also weakend the hub since it got hot as well. I do not recommend heating up the nut unless you plan on replacing your bearing at the least.

I would invest in an air tool setup. I got my 22gal 5 hp compressor, IR 1/2" impact gun and hose for 100 bucks on craigslist. Do some searching, I'm sure you'll find one.

Get a map gas torch flm.por like 25 bux, pb blasting fluid and go heat till red and let cool. Soak with fluid, heat till red and repeat 3-4 times THEN hit it with the impact.

BTW, what kind of vagina impact gun are you using? My impact will either break nuts or sockets. One of the two, well sometimes a little of both.

There's no "it won't do it" about it.

Your approach is wrong man. Use a torch and blasting fluid and this will turn out.
