ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Make sure the Junkyard offer some type of warrenty or return policy, if they don't, then their parts could be iffy.

you should ask around tranny shops and ask how much they charge to rebuild a tranny. and depending on the price of the tranny and the shops qoute you should by the tranny and have the shop rebuild it.

check the oil, if it's burned, if its clean or not, other than that you can't really check for other things. oh get all the sensors and torque converter if its automatic

I would say all of the above man. Really ask on the warranty bro. even if it is like 30 days. Gives you more then enough time to see if it is sticking or hesitating going in to gear at all.

check the magnetic drain plug, also take the front 4 solenoids, they'll have small screens, check them out, anything else

it was a hit, also, f23 is 98+ so it should be good
only a few people that beat f23s

I don't think OBD2 trannys work with OBD1 ECUs or TCUs, do they? I'm 99% sure that the OBD2 ECU has the tranny computer in it.

To the OP, you might want to check that you will be able to just plug the tranny into your stock harness. Even then, I don't know what TCU you would use.

Unless you are getting a 5 speed, in which case you should be fine. I think the speed sensor may be different though.

That's what I was going to say. A damaged car was running. An undamaged car was junked for another reason... and that reason could be a bad transmission.
