Help, Help, My Car Is Overheating!!!!!!

okay, first off, today i spent the whole day replacing all four engine mounts and cleaning the egr ports. i had to disassemble the fuel injection system, and many vacuum lines and connections. i had to disconnect a heater hose and lost quite a bit of coolant. but i did replace the coolant and bled the system. i had to drive an hour home and immediately the car starting overheating. i turned the heat on full blast which brought the temp down to a level i felt safe driving. on the highway it overheated more, and i pulled over several times. i popped the hood whenever i pulled over, and with the engine on NONE of my fans were blowing. when i turned the car off, one fan turned on. i checked the fuses and relays for the fans and they were good. i am almost positive i got all the connections right. maybe a vacuum line got crossed, but that really shouldn't cause overheating. shouldn't at least one fan be on while the car is driving on the highway, especially if the car is overheating? i am going to check again in the morning with more light, but any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    thank you.

I am pretty sure that the fan wouldnt do anything when you are on the highway. I wrecked my car a week ago, and put a new rad in, and my fan doesnt work anymore... I drove for a half an hour on the highway, and it was ok

you ever replace the thermostat? if not... then perhaps it's time to get that checked/replaced.

i'm taking a gander here but... during your process, you mentioned losing 'quite a bit of coolant'. Maybe you just didn't put enough coolant back. Not having enough coolant can cause the temp guage to rise and fall during certain conditions when the car is at idle or running. Did you check for coolant leaks if any?

first id drain the cooling system change the thermostat and then flush it out by running it with water...then refill and get the air out...

then test drive it and see if thats the problem....get a honda OEM thermostat...the thermostats at kregan/pepboys/ or any other places are made cheaply...and fail quicker.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I wouldn't change the thermostat just yet. I still think he can isolate what the problem is by a series of careful checks first.

              problem solved!!!!!!!!!!
i had pushed a cooling line hose out of the way when putting the the rear mount back in and this hose got kinked, blocking the coolant. i popped it back into place and problem solved. thanks for the advice.
