yeah, aslo when i do get around to doing this, when i'm fishing around for the wires like chile is, do i just look for them from the hole i just cut for the light, or do i have to like, dissasemble the wheel well or some shit?
and a related note, when i got mine in the mail....there's a metal clip that's springloaded that i'm guessing holds the light in....one was missing....how easy would it be to make something myself that could do the same job? or know where i can find some? maybe some other side markers from a car in a junkyard?

I havent done mine yet but Im assuming I can just locate the wiring from the parking lamp and follow the wire back to where I want to splice into it...shouldnt be that hard.
On a side note...I got my sidemarkers from an edm cb3 (i think). The sidemarker light should be a dual filament bulb right? That way it can be lit with the parking lamp but also blink with the turnsignal?

chile: you should be looking at the wiring near the headlights and not the wire loom that goes to the doors. all you need to do is tap the corner light wiring or the bumper lense wiring depending on how you want your sidemarker to light up.
if you tap from your inner corner light you get a constant on with the lights or if you tap from your outer corner light you get a constant on with blinking with the lights.
to be truly accurate, tap your bumper lenses. there is no positive side or negative side on the sidemarkers so just tap it.
DeathFromAbove: after cutting the hole for the light you need to run a set of wires towards the corner lights where you should tap for power. with some ingenuity it shouldn't be necessary to remove the fender liner. use fishing line or a wire hanger for instance.
and yes it will be hard to remake that spring clip. it's special metal and it needs to be shaped specifically for the lense. i say either find another marker, pry one off another marker, or cut the hole in the fender just small enough to hold the marker in place. i did that for 2 years with no problems until they were stolen .
good luck!

that lil retainer clip looks similar to something that is on the back of my garage door opener to clip onto a sun visor, same kinna steel, i'm sure i can find something like that, and grind and manipulate it to work
what do i want to tap if i want them to light up when my lights are turned on? and will they still blink?
and i see some peoople have their foglights wired so that they can turn them on without the headlights having to be on...how would i do this?
EDIT: but yeah, now that i look at it, it's prolly easier to just cut the hole smaller for the light. when i put them on, i'm going to put a thin layer of silicon sealant or something similar to keep water from getting in. and if it should happen to pop out, so what i won't lose it, it'll just dangle by the wire.Last edited by DeathFromAbove; 02-06-2006, 08:00 PM.
