He lost control of his car and nailed a curb. Did you think the rim would bounce?

x2 I've seen banged up cars come in my work and the oem rims are cracked and mangled.

              pics added to first post

I've never seen any rims look that bad except for Rotas... most rims just get dented, warped and scratched up bad... Rota wheels seem to simply fall apart.

Any rim can break. I've seen bent 15" forged SSR's.

PHEMPA: watch some wrc. Plenty of forged expensive-azz strong-azz wheels ripped off at the spokes during rallys. Really depends on how yr using them and how they got damaged.

There was a case of a certain style of rotas breaking on Subarus a few years ago, but iirc they fixed the problem and reimbursed the customers.

Right now they're one of the most commonly used rims for subarus (really hard to find affordable, light weight rims with high offset that clear brembos and suby 4-pots).

maybe you see so many broken rotas bc there are so many on the road

that can happen to any wheel if you nail a curb. there was someone on honda-tech that had a set of volks that he f'd up pretty damn bad from hitting a curb.

was taking a corner kinda fast,
                            lost control
slid left, overcorrected right and got sideways

popped up on the pass side sidewalk with the drv side of my car

                            figure that out

                            not that much damage
                            split my rotor in 1/2

and my caliper is prolly bustd but no susp or axle dmg

anywaz if anyone has 1 (or 2) flatblk slip(s) pls see my thread

X2, do you really think that light weight wheels can stand full contact with a curb. They are not steelies or cast alloy wheels like stock.
