I ran into this during my motor swap. Plus I have seen a few threads asking how to extract a bolt. The concept is the same. This is one way of doing this, but by all means not the only way.
**NOTE: Read all the instructions First**
Tools Needed:
- Drill
- Drill bits
- Bolt extractor kit.
- Center punch/ and hammer. (my punch didn't need a hammer)
Our Patient ready for surgery. Notice how the bolt's head is flat.
Step One
- Take the center punch and make a punch in the center of one of the TPS bolts(or the bolt you are removing).
Step Two
- Drill a hole in the bolt that you just marked with the center punch. Be sure to go deep enough for the extractor to be able to "grip" the bolt.
Here is the bolt with a hole drilled into it.
Step Three
- Now use the extractor to take out the bolt. (Use the drill in reverse)
- Repeat for the other bolt.
Now the you have taken off the TPS.
