ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    cb7 real short shifter.

i have had alot of people ask me where i got my short shiffter at.. so i figured i would help all out by posting it and the site.
grant you i have had many homeade shifters and such of all different sorts..

but this is the best one i have ever owned.
it is stiff,, verry verry short shift.. and verry short height wise as well.

it fits really well in my accord. yet also has the styling that makes our center counsel look so much better.. sometimes we like taking shortcuts,, but in the end i feel it better to wait and buy good performance products that are built to withstand every day rigurs and abuse.

Pspec is a good company I plan to purchase from them whenever I get the money. There are other alternatives such as yeamans. Owequitit is running a pspec.

I do have a Pspec, and it was worth every penny.

The only complaint I had was that it was difficult to get into first when the tranny was cold, because the throw is so short.

This is charachteristic of most short shifters.

A Skunk 2 weighted knob fixed that.

Now, it feels wonderful. It is smooth and delicate, but you can even feel what the syncros are doing while your shifting.

It is also very tough, and very well made.

Pspec also geometrically calculated the throw ratio so that the whole pattern would be symmetrical. That means the throw from 1-Neutral = the throw from the 1st - 2nd gate to the 3rd - 4th gate. Just like a good OEM shifter would be.

          I love it.

That is pretty close to what I paid with the custom knob and custom shift boot.

I got mine a few years ago when he did the group buy, so everything was a little cheaper.

              I saved about $40, I think.

Coinicidentally, I am not using the custom shift knob he makes anymore because it wasn't weighted.

It seems expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I have seen too many issues with cheaper short shifters to trust them.

Forbidden and Pspec are the only ones I would consider, and of those, I like Pspec better.

My only other consideration would be an OEM Prelude shifter.

I'm on a 4Bidden SS. I'm wondering how it compares to a PSPEC. I've had it for over 2 years and I think it might be the reason my transmission is grinding so badly now. Not too sure thought since it is the original tranny on a year 92 car. I'm on a prelude shift plate with no rubber bushings between the car chassis and shift plate btw

i have never had problems with it not going into the tranny when cold.. but for the shifter knob and boot cover i gave $240.00 from that website..

like another mentioned this is a verry well organized company who actually puts their products to the test from drivers in each automobile and lets them decide what is best.. this co. makes alot of theirs for rally cars.. and they are the best amoung the best in my opinion when it comes to driving..
likee i said i don't slam ya if you can't afford it., heck my first one was cut with a hack saw just to look shorter.. but also you really do get what you pay for sometimes.

i would recomend they came with these shifters from the factory .. that would be bad..

and thanks for posting this site. I am currently enjoying Yeamans short shifter, but my friend just bought a CB so I might sell it to him and buy a Pspec. That Shifter+Boot+Knob combo is sexy as hell. I wish Skunk2 had a more readily available weighted knob in gloss black

I wasn't a fan of the price or the fact that I couldn't use my stock knob... but I would definitely agree that they are quality. The pspec shifter was a long time in the making, so I know they researched it properly. If I ever wanted to spend that much money on a shifter, that would definitely be my choice!

I also think that my shifter (an old Fushigi RES shifter, modified stock) may be causing some grinding issues. I can only wonder if the pspec shifter has been made to not do that... I believe it's the shorter throw that does it, and there's no way to avoid that as far as I know!
