Neuspeed bar fits over H23 swap

OK...I installed the Neuspeed upper strut bar on my h23 swapped accord and it fits BUT it touches the engine just a tad on the driver side at the outter lip of the cam gear cover. It wouldn't be a big deal but since it touches the engine, the vibration of the engine is projected through the bar to the chassis and thus has A LOT of vibration now. Feels and sounds like I put a big cheap muffler on. I am planning on using washers in hopes of raising the bar up enough so that it no longer touches the engine. I don't want to sacrifice the performance end though since I know that the bar is suppose to sit flush to the chassis so I am open to any other ideas.
I am also wondering what about the h22 keeps the bar from fitting...possibly the same reason? Someone fill me in.

Yeah, same reason for the h22 swapped accords. Im gonna be building one sooner or later, since it helped my car w/the f22.

On my F20A DOHC the bar is close to the valve cover but not touching...

but the real problem is the oil cap... the bar blocks it from being removed...

It's not that it doesn't fit with any H22, H23, F22B, F20A swap it's just that the DOHC motors are longer front to back headwise... on the SOHC that was all empty space...

The 4 pt Neuspeed, Sprint, Momo type bars fit fine... it's just that you can't remove your oilcap and sometimes the engine rocks and hits the valve cover...

It fits... it just makes life alot less easy than having a 2 pt bar...

Well, I am using AMS oil so I am not worried about changing my oil anytime soon. And yes...it made a HUGE difference over the 2 point bar. I didn't believe the hype...so u know I had to see what the deal is. Definately better than the 2 point bar. Even my ride quality increased. Fantastic mod for the <$50 I spent!

I concur totally about the 2 point vs. 4 point bars...

It did strangely help the ride quality in a straight line even...

I miss my Neuspeed bar soooo much...

Maybe I'll put it back on and get one of those funnels with a tube for putting oil in...

OK, update on the Neu bar. I didn't want to use the spacer idea because i felt it would hurt the overall integrity of the bar since it is meant to be directly on the chassis so kmart, f22a and I decided to dremel down the valve cover around where the Neu. bar was touching (on the timing belt side). The bar has plenty of clearance now and thus will no longer touch the engine. I will try to get pics one day when El comes over again.

The bar definately helped decrease understeer. The car is much more predictable now and more stable at higher speeds.

Found it on ebay believe it or not.

Hey thanks for the idea H23...

I put my bar back on today and it was hitting the valve cover... I started it up and vibration is an understatement... and it was so loud...

So I whipped out the grinder and did a little surgery on the valve cover around the t-belt/cam gear area and made a nice little niche for the bar...

Started it up and checked it for vibrations and there wasn't any so I took it out for a test drive and I had forgotten just how much of a difference it makes...night and day...

It might not be the prettiest since there is an actual hole there now (but since it's part of the unsealed timing belt area it isn't a problem)... but the bar hides it somewhat and it is soooooo worth it...

So to all out there who love the 4 point bars and are swapped... don't toss it in favor of a cheap 2 point bar if you can live with the hole in the valve cover...

Yea I grinded it down but noticed that i didn't take into account the fact that the engine is gonna move when I get on the gas or go up or down hills so it kept making the noise. So I had to go back in there with and grind down more. Obviously there is a hole where the timing belt is visible, but i got the bar on and it is a small price to pay for big time gains! My car is so quiet now and handles awesome! Yet another great product by Neuspeed!
