    INT: manual seatbelt coversion

well guys mine were taking a shit, so i told my husby, to see if he could fix them and here's what he did:

    step 1: remove front seats
with this step you can find change, make-up and old old bank letters

step 2: remove the seat belt mechanism from seats
    self explanatory

    step 3: remove pillar covers

step 4: remove winding motor from pillar
couple of bolts, and some plugs

step 5: weld bracket to pillar
warning, if you dont know how to weld, dont do this
if your mask broke dont do this (hint PR CB7)
if you are going to, please cover the carpet, especially if carpet is F*&^% TAN!!!!

step 6: bolt up your manual seat belts
you have to drill the pillar for the motor to fit

step 7: put the plastics covers on the pillars

step 8: test (this was fun)

    step 9: bolt seats

step 10: clean your dirty mess (hint PR CB7!!!!!)

step 11: pull car by seat belts (optional)

So he will weld.... Yet he bolts the lower mount to thin sheet metal? That will tear out so quick in an accident. I would of boxed / added material to the lower mount.

I would so do this diy if I had auto belts! I don't know if I would weld tho lol. More like drill and tap. The belts look really clean and new are they? Oem belts are a pretty penny if bought new.

I would of removed the carpet. Degreaser, laundry detergent, and a power wash does wonders for a tan carpet!

Look much cleaner in the end!

If it was broken or starting to, I'd have the dealer fix the problem.

auto seat belts are for pussies
                            there i said it

also make the car older than what it really is, a 91 cb can look like a 95 car with a cosmetic upgrades, rims
but the seat belts and those bulky moldings 91 have, i just hate them with a passion

the car is a 91 SE, EVERY SINGLE PART on this car is SPECIAL
