ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

New User My 92 Accord EX Coupe

Just picked her up two weeks ago for $1,500. Pretty good condition besides some oxidation on hood and fenders; Interior is pretty mint. Has 262k but runs good. From Phoenix, can't wait to start fixing her up and looking good like she deserves...

A great base to start from. Paint and dent removal would go a long way toward making this thing look great! It's in such great condition as-is.

Do you have any plans for it, or do you just plan to use it as a daily?

Thank you, yeah I probably won't do a full respray since only the hood and fenders have oxidation, besides a minor bit on the roof. I'll just take the fenders and hood off and respray them and take care of the minor dents around the car at that time. My first and foremost goal is cleanliness, so I'm going for a resto-mod look with oem/jdm parts as well as some aftermarket such as wheels and suspension. Haven't decided on wheels, that's going to be a tough decision, but prob something 16" maybe 17". Tein Street Basis or Advance coilovers, Cusco front strut bar, Nardi deep grain wood steering wheel, and probably just going to get a jdm f series eventually since mine is getting up there in miles. But cleanliness is first and foremost.

You say that now, but the sun and sand take a toll on paint. Once you have brand new paint sitting a panel over from old paint, you'll see how faded it actually is.

That's not really recommended. Keep in mind that those engines have been sitting on shelves for ages as not many of them were pulled from JDM Accords very recently. If you're wanting to replace your engine with something that's roughly equal to it in terms of performance, my suggestion would be to buy a JDM F23A and put a rebuilt F22A head on it. It's a bit more work, but you'll have an incredibly reliable bottom end with a new top end. And all of your factory manifolds, sensors and distributor will bolt right up.

Yeah, that's true, a full respray is probably the way to go, if I do that it most likely won't be for awhile since it will cost a few grand for a decent one...either that or I could just do carbon fiber hood and fenders and shave a few lbs off while I'm at it, but that's a pretty penny too. It will take some time. As for the motor, I skimmed through the swap thread last night and one post made it sound like a jdm f series was the best route compared to an h swap, at least his opinion. He made some valid points, but you do too. What you said about the f23 is a good point. I don't think I want to swap the H22, so staying with the F series is my best choice no matter which route. Thanks for the insight man, I appreciate it.

Seeing cars from the southwest never gets old. As much as I love living in the mid-atlantic, I loathe our salty winters.

                Very nice starting point indeed

                Enjoy that thing!

Thanks! It's originally a Cali car and came to AZ in 2007. While there isn't one ounce of rust on it, the heat has taken a toll on the paint on the front half of the car, but I would definitely take that over rust lol.

Painted the heat shield and picked up some new bolts for it since the original ones had seen better days...

Recently lowered the car on Tein Street Advance, rides GREAT and looks amazing!! Also painted the hood, bumper, and driver side fender because of how oxidized it was. I used Dupli Color Perfect Match spray paint and it turned out awesome for only about $40 of paint. Installed my new Pioneer head unit last week. When I bought the car it came with an aftermarket Dual head unit which was pretty crappy and was blue and didn't match my dash lights, so I bought the Pioneer which I'm much happier with and allows me to change it to multiple different colors, including turquoise, which matches my dash lights perfectly.
